Experience

US$1.5 billion acquisitions for Casino Groupe, 2015

Representation of Almacenes Éxito in the acquisitions of a 50% stake in the French company Ségisor, which indirectly controls GPA for approximately USD 1.4 billion, and of a 18.8% stake in in Companhia Brasileira de Distribuicaos from Casino Guichard Perrachon SA.

Loxam acquisition of Equipment France and Hertz Aquiler de Maquinaria, 2015

Advising Loxam on the merger control issues arising from its contemplated acquisition of Hertz Equipment France and Hertz Aquiler de Maquinaria. Loxam, the European leader in the equipment rental market, had entered into exclusive negotiations with Hertz Equipment Rental for the takeover of its activities in France and in Spain (62 branches in total). Further to the notification of the filing, the French Competition Authority (Autorité de la Concurrence) authorized the transaction on October 2, 2015, on the basis that the transaction was not liable to adversely affect competition in the French equipment rental market.

US$188 million Cnova's IPO on NASDAQ, 2014

Advising Cnova N.V. and its parent company Groupe Casino in connection with the reorganization and spin-off of Casino's eCommerce businesses by means of a $188 million IPO on NASDAQ in November 2014. Cnova was created from the reorganization of the eCommerce businesses of Companhia Brasileira de Distribuição and Casino Guichard-Perrachon, S.A., leading retailers in Brazil and France, respectively, which are part of Groupe Casino, a leading global diversified retail group with total sales of approximately €49 billion. As a result of the transaction, the newly formed Cnova has become one of the world's largest pure play eCommerce companies.

BC Partners, 2014

Advising BC Partners on several transactions including the acquisition (2010) and sale of Spotless Group to Henkel AG (2014), the acquisition of Allflex, the world’s leading manufacturer and distributor of plastic and electronic animal identification tags, from Electra Partners (2013) and the acquisition and sale of Medica (2010).

IK Investment Partners, 2014

Advising IK Investment Partners on several transactions and notably on the acquisition of Exxelia Group (2014), the acquisition and sale of Europe Snacks, the savoury snacks maker, to Apax Partners (2013), the acquisition of Unipex, a chemicals trading company (2012) and many other transactions since 2001.
