ICBC/Territorial Generation and China Huadian, 2013

Representation of ICBC in connection with its US$400 million limited recourse financing to a joint venture between Territorial Generating Company No. 2 (TGC-2) and China Huadian Corporation to finance the construction of a new gas-fired combined-cycle cogeneration plant to sell electric power into Russia's wholesale market under long-term capacity sale agreements entered into by the borrower through the system operator with local industrial buyers and steam to TGC-2.

China Development Bank Corporation/Volvo, 2012

Advised China Development Bank Corporation on a €922 million (approximately US$1.21 billion) refinancing term loan to Volvo Personvagnar AB. The financing was for the immediate refinancing of Volvo's outstanding debt with European Investment Bank, among others. The new loan was the first loan agreement to be entered into between CDB and Volvo, with reference to the strategic partnership between the parties which was announced on April 24, 2012, and in support of Volvo's plans for investments for expanding sales, half of which will be spent on production upgrades in Sweden. Volvo Car Corporation is a maker of premium cars, which Zhejiang Geely Holding Group bought from Ford Motor Co in 2010.

China Development Bank/Shandong Steel, 2012

Advised China Development Bank Corporation on a US$1.2 billion financing to Shandong Steel Hong Kong Resources Limited for its subscription of 25 percent of the share capital of each of African Power (SL) Limited, African Railway & Port Services (SL) Limited and Tonkolili Iron Ore (SL) Limited. This deal was awarded "Energy & Natural Resources Deal of the Year" from China Law & Practice in 2012. Shandong Steel Hong Kong Resources Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Shandong Iron & Steel Group Co., Ltd. Tonkolili Iron Ore (SL) operates the Tonkolili mine, which is the biggest iron mine in Sierra Leone."

China Development Bank/ Petroleos de Venezuela S.A., 2011

Advised China Development Bank Corporation on a 3-year US$1.5 billion financing provided to Petroleos de Venezuela S.A., the state oil company of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

China Development Bank/ P4 Sp zoo, 2011

Advised China Development Bank Corporation on a number of financings to support P4 Sp. zo.o since its inception, including a €150 million financing of Phase 1 of the UMTS project in Poland, a committed facility of up to €310 million and a standby facility of up to €180 million for Phases 2, 3 and 4 of the project. Most recently, he advised CDB on a term loan to P4 Sp. zo.o of €400 million to purchase equipment and services from Huawei Technologies, and for general corporate purposes. Project 4 (P4) (formerly Netia Mobile) is a landmark joint venture for Poland, as the country's first 3G mobile telecommunications network.

China Development Bank Corporation, 2010

Represented China Development Bank Corporation on a US$10 billion loan and a RMB 70 billion loan (together valued at over US$20 billion), to Venezuela's Banco de Desarrollo Económico y Social de Venezuela (BANDES). This is one of the largest financings that CDB has extended to any one country, and the transaction received Honorable Mention recognition from Asian-Counsel.
