Overview

Yang Zhao is an associate in our Banking group in London. His banking and finance experience includes acting for both lenders and major corporate borrowers on general bank lending, structured trade and commodity finance, and leveraged and acquisition finance.

Yang spent six months working in the Energy and Infrastructure group of the Firm's Abu Dhabi office as part of his training prior to qualification, where his focus was on project finance and general bank finance transactions.

Experience

Representing HSBC Bank plc as arranger in connection with a US$200 million multicurrency export credit agency supported financing to Klabin S.A.

Representing the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) as lender in connection with a US$80 million syndicated secured multicurrency refinancing of Astarta, a leading sugar producer in Ukraine.

Representing EBRD in relation to the disposal of their preference shares and the reinvestment in the ordinary shares of Agrokor d.d.

Representing The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd., Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and Mizuho Bank Ltd. in a refinancing of debt provided to the LIXIL Corporation for the purchase of the Grohe Group assets in Europe and the subsidiary Joyou group assets in P. R. China.

Representing Deutsche Bank AG, London Branch in respect of a £50 million facility agreement to Virtus IMH Limited. Virtus IMH Limited is an English company which owns and operates data centres. The proceeds of the loan was to be used by Virtus IMH Limited to acquire FREP2 (Enfield Holdings) Limited and for on-going capex works related to the operation of its data centres.
