Practice Experience
Philippe Sarrailhé's main areas of practice are international arbitration, mergers and acquisitions, joint-ventures and commercial contracts.
Mr. Sarrailhé is regularly involved as counsel in international arbitrations governed by French law or other civil laws primarily in connection with a variety of commercial and investment matters ranging from construction and management contracts to international distribution agreements and post-acquisition disputes.
On the transactional side, he represents top French and foreign clients in the negotiation of major cross-border private and public M&A transactions as well as joint-ventures and other long-term cooperation agreements involving hospitality, automotive, space, aeronautical, chemical, pharmaceutical, food and other industrial companies as well as banking institutions.
Mr. Sarrailhé has lectured on European commercial law and international business transactions at the University of Paris Law School.
Recent matters include:
- Representing Scandinavia-based world leader in the agro-food business in acquisition of large food ingredients division.
- Representing leading foreign pharmaceutical in the field of allergies in acquisition of French competitor.
- Representing North-American petrochemical company in acquisition of European-based assets.
- ICC arbitration in breach of distribution agreement with Latin American party in the computer industry.
- ICSID arbitration in investment dispute with Latin American state in the field of energy.
- ICC arbitration in construction dispute relating to a project in New Caledonia.
