Saionton’s practice is focused principally on project finance and development, general banking and finance, with experience in acquisitions and regulation, joint ventures and general corporate matters.

Representative transactions include:

• Advising one of Finland’s largest listed mining and smelting corporations in respect of the sale of certain parts of its copper and brass business.
• Advised BHP Billiton with respect to joint ventures in North Africa.
• Advised the Delhi Development Authority with respect to the bidding process, negotiation and drafting of agreements in relation to hotel and residential projects being developed for the Commonwealth Games, 2010.
• Advised the Government of Maharashtra, India in connection with the Mumbai Solid Waste Management Project.
• Advised a leading international construction company in connection with the development of the proposed Blue Nile City in the State of Khartoum, Sudan.
• Advised Mr. L.N Mittal on setting up of the Mittal Champions Trust in India.
