Shigehiko Ito joined the Tokyo office of White & Case in August 2007 and practices in the areas of real estate and capital markets. His real estate practice includes financing, securitization and due diligence in connection with cross-border investment transactions.

Prior to joining White & Case, Mr. Ito was a Japan practice associate at a San Francisco law firm and advised both Japanese and non-Japanese clients on intellectual property, general corporate and real estate matters.  His experience includes trademark registration and filing, advising clients on trademark, trade secret and unfair competition issues, intellectual property licensing and preparation and negotiation of various corporate and real estate documents.

During law school, Mr. Ito was a technical editor of the Santa Clara Law Review and published a comment on animal welfare law. His work during graduate studies in psychology and neuroscience resulted in a publication in the international scientific journal, Science.
