Practice Experience
Sharon Parella is a partner in the Firm's Executive Compensation, Benefits and Employment Law (ECBEL) practice.  Based in New York, Ms. Parella concentrates in defending employers against discrimination and compensation claims in state and federal courts, federal, state and local fair employment agencies and in proceedings before the New York Stock Exchange, Inc. and the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc.  Her practice also focuses on employment issues related to mergers and acquisitions and significant restructurings and downsizings.

Ms. Parella has particular expertise in drafting and negotiating employment consulting and settlement agreements and releases.  In conjunction with foreign counsel, she advises clients regarding U.S. employees abroad and on the application of U.S. employment laws to expatriate employees in the U.S.  In addition, Ms. Parella counsels clients on issues of discrimination, employee misconduct and sexual harassment and provides training seminars on these and related topics for senior management, executives, human resources professionals, in-house legal counsel and employees.  She regularly advises on investigations of employee complaints of discrimination.
