Practice Experience
Ms. Westcott has recently joined the Paris office of White & Case after having previously worked for three years in White & Case’s Budapest office where she was the co-head of the finance practice. Prior to this, Ms. Westcott spent six years in Paris working in the finance department of a magic circle law firm.
She has a wide experience in many areas of finance including project finance and investment in infrastructure, asset finance, capital markets and syndicated loans. Ms. Westcott has represented a number of different players in finance transactions including arrangers, agent banks, syndicate members, bilateral lenders, borrowers and sponsors. In addition, Ms. Westcott has regularly been the advisor of two leading aircraft manufacturers. Ms. Westcott has considerable experience in and knowledge of syndicated loans in the London, Paris and CEE markets and is familiar with the LMA documentation.
Whilst in Budapest, Ms. Westcott’s practice focused mainly on project finance transactions in various sectors. Ms. Westcott represents EBRD and its co-lead arrangers, WestLB, CIB Bank, Banco Espirito Santo and Banca Intesa in the M5 motorway financing, the first major PPP financing to have been concluded in Hungary and Hungary’s largest ever non-state guaranteed syndicated financing (EUR 750 million). Ms. Westcott also represented EBRD as principal arranger and lender in a large project financing, involving its financing of 8 hypermarkets for the Cora Group. In addition, Ms. Westcott advised Éléctricité de France in connection with its acquisition of one of the leading power companies in Hungary and with the financing of a newly constructed power plant.
White & Case in Budapest are MOL Hungarian Oil and Gas Company’s (Hungary’s largest corporate) exclusive finance counsel in Hungary and during her time in Budapest, Ms. Westcott headed-up this practice regularly advising MOL as borrower in connection with its debt portfolio with Hungarian and foreign banking syndicates.
In her previous time spent in Paris, Ms. Westcott’s practice was strongly asset finance and syndicated lending based and Ms. Westcott has represented many of the leading French banks including Calyon, Société Générale, Crédit Commercial de France, Natexis Banques Populaires and Commerzbank Paris on a large number of complex aircraft financings, many of which involved export credit support from the Export Credit Agencies of France, England, Germany and Italy.
Ms. Westcott also has a considerable amount of experience in corporate transactions, the most recent being her representation of two private equity funds, AIG Global Investments and GMT Communication, in connection with their acquisition of Vivendi Telecom Hungary. In addition, Ms. Westcott has represented Revillon, the French fashion house, in a joint venture with a Japanese partner, Autologic plc (a major listed British transport company) in its acquisition of a privately owned French transport company and Dalkia in the proposed purchase and debt restructuring of a Czech energy company.
Before Paris, Ms. Westcott spent almost a year working in the finance section of the legal department of Airbus SAS and before that she worked in London.
