Practice Experience
William Robertson's primary practice focus is bank finance. He advises major banks in a variety of complex lending transactions, including multijurisdictional secured and unsecured financings, syndicated and bilateral transactions, including acquisition and leveraged financings.
Mr. Robertson has also advised US and non-US banks, bank holding companies and other financial institutions in a range of regulatory matters, such as the regulatory aspects of mergers and acquisitions in the United States; the conduct of securities-related activities by banking institutions; the effect of US laws and regulations on direct and indirect activities of, and investments by, foreign banks in the United States; issuances of capital instruments by banking organizations; the establishment of US banking offices by non-US banks; liquidation of US branches and trust company subsidiaries of foreign banks; interstate branching issues; and supervisory enforcement proceedings.
