Practice Experience
Zita Albert joined White & Case's Budapest office in 2006, as a member of our Mergers and Acquisitions, Private Equity, Capital Markets and Financial Restructuring & Insolvency practice groups.

Zita's practice focuses on M&A and capital markets transactions, and general corporate matters including restructurings.

Her recent, significant experience in M&A transactions includes advising: 
  • The UK's leading airport operator on the €1.9 billion sale of the airport operator’s majority stake in Budapest Airport to German airport operator Hochtief Airport; 
  • An international investment firm that invests in assets in environmental and emissions markets worldwide, and its co-investor, an Austrian venture capital firm, in their subscription of new shares in a Hungarian company that designs and markets industrial and municipal wastewater treatment plants which make use of unique organic treatment methods; 
  • The largest private health care services company in Central and Eastern Europe in connection with the acquisition of Siemens' Hungarian imaging diagnostics business; 
  • A leading worldwide supplier of research laboratory equipment in connection with the acquisition of a 100% interest in a Hungarian family business specializing in the supply of laboratory equipment; 
  • A Swiss food multinational giant in connection with (i) the acquisition of the Balaton chocolate wafer countline business from Győri Keksz Kft., a subsidiary of Kraft Foods, and (ii) the sale of the multinational giant’s Family Frost ice cream business to Eismann, the private German frozen food company; 
  • An investment vehicle within a leading international cable operator, in connection with the increase of its shareholding in a Hungarian company mainly engaged in the production and distribution of sports related programs and the operation of a sports channel in Hungary, the Czech Republic, and the Slovak Republic, to 80%; 
  • A US-based cable television operator in connection with the restructuring of its operations in Hungary; 
  • A Hungarian transportation hub on the sale of its ground handling business to Turkish ground handling operator Celebi; 
  • A leading European energy group in its acquisition of a wind energy project in Hungary; and 
  • A leading Spanish wind power development and management company on the structuring, negotiation and formation of a joint venture with Hungarian wind energy companies.

Zita’s recent, significant experience in capital markets transactions includes advising: 
  • A leading European power company in the subsequent de-listing of the shares of a Hungarian electricity company from the Budapest Stock Exchange, the de-listing of global depositary receipts representing shares in the electricity distribution company from the Luxembourg Stock Exchange and the termination of the quotation of the GDRs in the International Order Book of the London Stock Exchange; 
  • The asset management arm of a major Swiss private bank in connection with the registration and publication requirements under the Hungarian capital markets act in connection with the acquisition of shares in public companies; 
  • One of the most successful shopping center developers in the CEE region, and a premier global financial services firm in connection with the developer's successful ₤154 million international public offering of shares listed on the London Stock Exchange; and 
  • A company focusing on environmental finance regarding its brokerage deals on the BlueNext carbon emission exchange made on behalf of various Western European and CEE companies.
