Financing for acquisition of franchise rights for McDonald's restaurants

Advised Saudi Arabia's Reza Group and Qatar's Al-mana Group on a secured financing by CIMB for the acquisition of the franchise rights for McDonald's 390 restaurants in Singapore and Malaysia. The transfer of the McDonald's business to a developmental license model is the first to be implemented in Asia.

Refinancing for PT Rajawali Corpora's mining arm

Advised the borrowers within PT Rajawali Corpora's mining arm on a refinancing consisting of a US$275 million conventional facility to PT Meares Soputan Mining, PT Tambang Tondano Nusajaya and PT Archi Indonesia and a US$125 million murabahah facility to PT Meares Soputan Mining and PT Tambang Tondano Nusajaya.

Facilities to Indorama

Advised the mandated lead arrangers, agent and security agent on a US$500 million guaranteed and secured revolving credit facilities to Indorama Corporation Pte. Ltd. Indorama, headquartered in Indonesia, is a global manufacturer of polyethylene, polypropylene, polyester fiber and filament as well as spun yarns, fabrics, and medical gloves and one of the largest producers of polyolefins.

Refinancing for PT Trans Retail's acquisition of Carrefour Indonesia

Advised the mandated lead arrangers and original lenders on a US$1.275 billion senior secured financing provided to subsidiaries of Indonesian conglomerate CT Corpora, which was named "Loan of the Year" at the IFR Asia Awards 2014. The proceeds were used to refinance the US$750 million loan for PT Trans Retail's acquisition of a 60 percent stake in Carrefour Indonesia, the local unit of French retailer Carrefour, to refinance an existing US$450 million loan to PT Trans Media Corpora and PT Televisi Transformasi Indonesia, and to refinance an existing US$150 million financing provided to PT Trans Corpora, which was used for the acquisition of an 80 percent stake in PT Indonusa Telemedia (TelkomVision). The original lenders included ANZ, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, BNP Paribas, Credit Suisse, DBS Bank, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, ING Bank, Maybank, The Royal Bank of Scotland, Standard Chartered Bank and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation.

Bayan Resources' refinancing

Advised Bayan Resources on a US$750 million term loan (with an option to increase it to US$950 million), for refinancing debt and funding corporate and working capital requirements as well as expansion opportunities. Bayan is one of Indonesia's biggest coal producers listed on the Jakarta Stock Exchange. The lenders are Sumitomo Mitsui Banking, ANZ, Bank Mandiri, HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank, JP Morgan and Natixis.
