Biography

Overview

Luke advises arrangers, sponsors, originators and fund managers on a variety of structured finance transactions, including CLOs, consumer asset-backed securities, residential mortgage-backed securities, trade receivables and esoteric assets classes such as commodities. Luke also advises on the regulatory and structuring aspects of these financing matters, including the Securitisation Regulation, the EU Sustainable Finance Regulations and the ongoing development of ESG and SDG criteria in relation to them.

In 2018, Luke completed a 9-month secondment to the CLO structuring desk at Morgan Stanley, working on both CLO warehouse financing and public CLOs.

Luke is a member of the White & Case EMEA Sustainable Finance Group, advising on and researching issues concerning green bond and loan issuance, the EU Taxonomy and EU Green Deal and is also a member of the White & Case LIFT London innovation group, promoting the use of AI and Machine Learning in the legal and business world.

Representative transactions include advising:

SoftBank Vision Fund on its $800m investment in Greensill, a company specialising in supply chain finance. The transaction was the fund's largest fintech investment in the EMEA region and valued the company at approximately $3.5 billion.

A UK mortgage originator on forward flow financing for their origination programme.

Arrangers and managers on > 40 EUR CLO 2.0s. Recent transactions include advising:
