Biography
Overview
Sarah is an associate in the Construction & Engineering group, based in our Abu Dhabi office.
She specializes in both contentious and non-contentious construction law, with a strong international focus. Her work spans the construction and energy sectors. Sarah's experience includes drafting and negotiating a wide range of project documentation including EPC contracts, BOOT contracts, operation and maintenance contracts, design and build contracts, consultant appointments, performance bonds and parent company guarantees (and advising on disputes in relation to the same). Her clients include project sponsors, contractors, developers, lenders, owners and operators.
Experience
Advising the owner in relation to the development of a mega real estate project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia including the preparation of multiple infrastructure and construction contracts.
Secondment to a National Oil Company, which involved the preparation and negotiation of a wide range of engineering, construction and procurement related agreements and the development of the National Oil Company's precedent onshore and offshore EPC contracts and wider procurement contracts.
Advising an owner in relation to a dispute relating to the termination of a contract for the construction of a luxury hotel, and the recovery of the owner's additional costs in completing the works with a third party contractor.
Advising a Middle East government in relation to a dispute relating to the construction of a major highway.
Advising a contractor in relation to a contract for the design and construction of a semi-submersible drilling unit.
Acting for a joint venture party in relation to the development of a FEED and project management consultancy contract, in connection with a multi-billion dollar petrochemical facility in Saudi Arabia.
Acting for the owner in the development of EPC contracts for the proposed development of a multi-billion dollar petrochemicals processing facility in Egypt.
Advising the owner in relation to the design, construction and commissioning of a nuclear power plant in Argentina.
Acting for the procurer in relation to the preparation of EPC and O&M agreements in connection with the development of a 200 MIGD reverse osmosis water treatment plant in Abu Dhabi.
Acting for the procurer in relation to the preparation of an EPC contract, O&M contract and LTSA in connection with the development of a 2,000 to 2,400 MW greenfield power generation plant in Fujairah.
Acting for the procurer in relation to the preparation of an EPC contract in connection with the development of a 2GW photovoltaic power plant in Abu Dhabi.
Advising the owner in relation to issues arising from the potential bankruptcy of a contractor engaged across several projects in Saudi Arabia.
Advising a contractor in relation to an EPC contract for the design, supply and commissioning of a 2,000 MW HVDC power link in Germany. The link will be approximately 580 km in length.
Acting for the owner in relation to the negotiation of a contract for marine works in Qatar.
Acting for a Saudi Arabian bank in the preparation of standard form procurement contracts for supply or goods, services and construction works.
