Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Litigation Practice with the addition of Anirudh Bansal as a partner in New York.
"Anirudh is an excellent trial and white collar defense lawyer, with an outstanding record in complex litigation, high-stakes investigations and enforcement matters," said White & Case Chair Heather McDevitt. "His arrival will help our clients navigate sophisticated regulatory and bet-the-company risks, and reflects our Firm's continued investment in exceptional talent who will deliver world-class disputes counsel."
Anirudh is a leading litigator and former Southern District of New York federal prosecutor. A Chambers USA Band 1-ranked lawyer, he has extensive experience representing global financial institutions, multinational corporations, boards and executives in civil and commercial litigation, as well as criminal and regulatory investigations conducted by the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission and other enforcement authorities. He joins White & Case from Cahill, where he was Chair of its White Collar Defense & Investigations Practice Group.
Prior to private practice, Anirudh was an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York and was Co-Chief of the Complex Frauds Unit, and served in the Securities and Commodities Fraud Task Force and as Chief of the International Narcotics Trafficking Unit. During his tenure, Anirudh conducted 18 criminal trials and argued numerous appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit for various crimes, including securities fraud, fraud against financial institutions, money laundering, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations and other complex financial crimes.
Anirudh's arrival further advances the strategic growth of White & Case's Global Litigation Practice following the recent lateral partner arrivals of Jonathan Polkes, who joined as Global Co-Head of Litigation, with Stacy Nettleton and Adam Banks (all in New York), Jeffrey Steinfeld (Los Angeles), T. Markus Funk (Chicago), and Kevin Spencer (Washington, DC).
