Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Litigation Practice with the addition of Jeffrey Steinfeld as a partner in Los Angeles.
"Jeff's addition strengthens our US capabilities and deepens our litigation bench," said White & Case Chair Heather McDevitt. "He joins a leading securities litigation team, and his broad experience enhances our ability to guide clients through complex regulatory and litigation challenges."
Steinfeld is a first-chair trial and appellate lawyer, and nationally recognized securities litigator who represents companies, financial institutions and senior executives in high-stakes securities, corporate governance and white-collar matters. He has served as lead counsel in civil, criminal and government enforcement proceedings throughout the United States, including jury and bench trials and appeals before the Delaware Supreme Court, the California Supreme Court and the US Courts of Appeals, as well as litigation in the Delaware Court of Chancery. He also counsels issuers, boards, audit committees and senior executives navigating parallel civil litigation, regulatory scrutiny and reputational risk arising from public company disclosures, business combinations, digital asset transactions and financial reporting. His clients span technology and social media, cryptocurrency and digital assets, fintech, private equity and investment funds, commercial and investment banking, broker-dealers and special purpose acquisition companies. He joins White & Case from an international law firm, where he was a partner.
"Our securities litigation team is second to none, and Jeff's arrival further strengthens our capabilities in Los Angeles," said Jonathan Polkes, Co-Head of White & Case's Global Litigation Practice. "His extensive trial experience at state and federal courts, along with his sharp strategic guidance in high-stakes matters, will be an asset for our clients as regulatory and litigation activity rises."
Steinfeld added: "I am excited to join White & Case's preeminent securities litigation team at a time of significant opportunity in California. The Firm's global disputes platform and depth in securities and investigations provide a strong foundation to further strengthen its litigation presence in California and across the West Coast. I look forward to collaborating across practices and offices to deliver strategic counsel in high-stakes securities, governance and enforcement matters."
Steinfeld's arrival continues the strategic expansion of White & Case's disputes platform, with recent lateral partner additions including Head of Global Life Sciences IP Litigation Practice Elizabeth Holland and Life Sciences partner Daniel Margolis (both based in New York); Co-Head of the Global Life Sciences and Healthcare Industry Group Nicholas Mitrokostas (based in Boston); Life Sciences partner William James (based in Washington, DC); Litigation partner T.
