Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Practice and Global Energy Industry Group with the addition of Ian Goldberg as a partner in Houston.
"We're prioritizing continued growth in our leading energy sector and M&A capabilities," said White & Case Chair Heather McDevitt. "Ian brings strong upstream and midstream dealmaking expertise to our Houston team that will complement our offering in these areas."
Goldberg advises on energy transactions, including acquisitions and divestitures, strategic joint ventures and project development, with an emphasis on the upstream and midstream sectors. He also advises on energy transition matters, including the development, acquisition and divestiture of carbon capture, utilization & storage and renewable energy projects.
"White & Case is at the forefront of advising on complex deals in the energy industry," said Jay Cuclis, White & Case's Houston Office Executive Partner and Co-Head of the Firm's Global Energy Industry Group. "As our clients continue to invest in large-scale projects, Ian's experience will be a vital asset to the continued build-out of our Houston presence in response to sustained client demand."
Goldberg added: "White & Case has an outstanding reputation for its deal work across the energy sector. I look forward to joining the Firm's talented group of lawyers to further build on this momentum, and collaborate across its integrated global platform to further expand the M&A team in Houston."
White & Case's energy industry expertise has continued to grow since the start of 2025, with the addition of Project Development and Finance partners John Donaleski in New York, Patrick Johnson in Houston and Serra Tar in London, and M&A and Sustainability & Responsible Business partner Peter Trimarchi in New York. Goldberg's addition also furthers the expansion of the Firm's Houston office, which now has more than 80 lawyers.
