Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised NOVA Chemicals Corporation on an investment into the development of its first mechanical recycling facility in Connersville, Ind., which will significantly expand its Circular Solutions business.

The facility will process post-consumer plastic films to produce the company's SYNDIGO™ recycled polyethylene (rPE) at commercial scale as early as 2025, delivering more than 100 million pounds of rPE to the market by 2026. NOVA Chemicals plans to expand its recycling footprint over the next several years to help it reach its industry-leading 2030 aspiration of 30 percent recycled content as a share of its total polyethylene sales.

NOVA Chemicals is a leading sustainable polyethylene producer in North America, creating products for customers to make easy-to-recycle and recycled content films, packaging and other products.

The White & Case team was led by Project Development and Finance partner Raymond Azar (New York), and included M&A partner Taylor Pullins (Houston); Project Development and Finance associate Raffaele Turco (New York); and international law clerk Adam Conwell. Law clerks Marco Paternoster and Jack Hobbie also assisted on the matter.
