Aaron Colodny
Biography
Overview
Mr. Colodny is a partner in the Firm's Financial Restructuring and Insolvency Group and is based in the Firm's Los Angeles office. He has represented large corporations, their equity holders, and creditors (both in their own capacities and as counsel to official committees in chapter 11 proceedings) in some of the largest and most complex out-of-court and in-court reorganizations. Mr. Colodny has acted as lead counsel in many successful in-court chapter 11 cases and complex litigation matters. Mr. Colodny is known for his ability to combine legal analysis with practical business solutions to drive positive outcomes for his clients.
Experience
Lead Counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the chapter 11 case of Celsius Network LLC in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, acting as the fiduciary for hundreds of hundreds of thousands of account holders and other creditors of the failed cryptocurrency company.
Represented the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the Chapter 11 cases of Invitae Corporation and its debtor affiliates.
Represented the majority equity holder of SunPower Corporation with respect to their additional investment of $125 million of secured subordinated financing.
Represented Strike, LLC and its affiliated debtors in the sale of substantially all of their assets and confirmation of a liquidating plan in their chapter 11 cases.
Represented The Hertz Corporation and its affiliated debtors in their successful chapter 11 reorganization.
Represented Sempra Texas Holdings Corp and Sempra Texas Intermediate Holding Company, LLC in litigation before the Delaware Chancery Court regarding their investment in Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC.
Represented U.S. Bank National Association in its capacity as indenture trustee of the 2019 Notes in the chapter 11 proceedings of Nine West Holdings, Inc.
Represented Beal Bank USA and Beal Bank, SSB as secured lenders and DIP lenders in the chapter 11 proceedings of New Mach Gen, LLC.
