Alex concentrates on energy project development and financing and has extensive experience advising clients on energy project investments and joint ventures, LNG sale and purchase agreements, LNG transportation arrangements and LNG vessel financing.

He also works across other areas of the energy sector, including energy transition, delivering value and guidance to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients.

Alexander is also able to offer clients the benefit of his substantial M&A experience – helping both Japanese and international clients to successfully navigate complex cross-border transactions.

He is a member of the Daini Tokyo Bar Association.

LNG Sale and Purchase Agreements
Representation of clients regarding LNG sale and purchase agreements for long-term supply of LNG from the Ichthys, Gorgon, North West Shelf and Pluto LNG projects in Australia; coal seam gas to LNG projects in Queensland, Australia; the PNG LNG project in Papua New Guinea; and other LNG projects located in the Middle East, Indonesia and Malaysia; as well as for portfolio supplies and short-term spot supplies.

Representation of clients with respect to price reviews (periodic and price-out-of range) under LNG sale and purchase agreements.

Energy and Power Project Investments and Joint Ventures:
Representation of clients with respect to equity investments, joint venture arrangements, and upstream contractual agreements for the Wheatstone LNG project, Pluto LNG project, Gorgon LNG project and other projects in North America, Australia, Asia and the Middle East.
