Biography

Overview

Tony, who started with the Firm as a summer associate in 1979, has a general corporate practice with considerable merger and acquisition, debt finance and municipal securities experience.

Tony represents both buyers and sellers in numerous public and private stock and asset transactions. Clients who have benefited from his ability to steer transactions through complex legal matters include the Irish Dairy Board and Aviation Capital Group. He also represents various not-for-profit entities and foundations, including the United States Olympic Committee, the Seal Future Fund and The Guggenheim Museum.

He advises numerous domestic and foreign banks in a wide array of credit transactions, and has considerable experience and know-how regarding soft capital facilities for monoline insurers and direct-pay letters of credit.

In the municipal finance area, Tony's clients include underwriters, placement agents, remarketing agents, issuers, purchasers, credit enhancers, bond insurers, trustees, financial advisers and tender agents. For many years, he represented Salomon Brothers and Goldman Sachs as underwriters' counsel on more than 25 Municipal Assistance Corporation for the City of New York (MAC) financings totalling over US$11 billion. He has also worked on approximately 200 variable-rate demand bond transactions.
