Overview

Charles Linel is a senior associate in the Firm's Capital Markets group in Paris focusing on derivatives and structured products.

Charles advises regularly on a number of different derivatives and structured products across various asset classes (Fixed Income, Credit, Funds, Equity, FX). In particular, Charles has a strong knowledge of the regulatory framework surrounding derivatives (in particular EMIR or Benchmark Regulation) and represents regularly clients of the firm on negotiations of master agreements (ISDA, FBF), variation margin (VM) and initial margin (IM) documentation in the context of plain vanilla transactions or structured finance-linked hedging transactions (such as project finance or securitization, with a focus on the negotiation of swaps complying with rating agency criteria).

Charles' experience also includes a significant expertise in synthetic securitization transactions (through the use of derivatives or first demand guarantees) and a deep knowledge of the Securitization Regulation, the CRR and related significant risk transfer ("SRT") and simple, transparent and standardized ("STS") regimes.

Before joining White & Case in 2017, Charles practiced in the London and Paris office of a Magic Circle law firm for more than three years.
