David Markoff is an associate in the Firm's Washington, DC Office, where his work focuses on intellectual property, open source software, data privacy, and cyber security. David has experience in patent litigation, negotiation, and prosecution as well as in open source software due diligence and advisory work for data privacy and cyber security. Additionally, David is a Synopsis (formerly Black Duck) Certified Legal Professional.
Prior to joining the Firm, David attended the University of Virginia School of Law where he was an editor of the Virginia Sports and Entertainment Law Journal and Managing Editor and Technology Editor of the Virginia Law Weekly. David spent his first summer as an intellectual property intern at Quixey where he gained an in-depth understanding of the intellectual property and business challenges faced by start-ups in the heart of Silicon Valley. Prior to attending the University of Virginia, David studied computer science and anthropology at James Madison University.
