Biography

Overview

Deborah has recently joined our Global Intellectual Property Practice, from another major international law firm, as Counsel in the London Office.

Deborah has over 25 years' experience advising clients in relation to intellectual property, information technology and data privacy matters, primarily in the context of international mergers, acquisitions, disposals, stock exchange listings and re-organisations. She also has extensive experience of advising on general commercial matters, including franchising, service agreements, IT procurement, domain name disputes and intellectual property infringement. Her clients are spread across a broad range of sectors, including pharmaceuticals, leisure and retail, banking, foods and beverages, consumer goods, clothing design, oil and gas, aerospace and medical devices.

Deborah's practice also encompasses data protection and privacy matters and she regularly advises clients as to the implications of, and compliance with, the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

Prior to joining the Firm, Deborah spent eight years at another global firm where she started up and led their UK IP, IT and Data Privacy practice.

Recent experience before joining White & Case includes acting for:
Unilever plc on the disposal of its baking, cooking and spreads business to KKR for approximately €7 billion.

Amec Foster Wheeler PLC in its takeover by Wood Group PLC and the related disposal of its North Sea oil and gas business.

Cerberus Capital in its bid for Teva's European oncology and pain treatment IP portfolio.

Bridgepoint Development Capital in various acquisitions, including the purchase of: the Zizzi and Ask Italian restaurant chains; the Quotient Clinical drug development, manufacturing and testing business; and Phlexglobal, a leading provider of healthcare support services.

TDR Capital in their acquisition of the Walkabout pub chain.

Stirling Square Capital Partners in their acquisition of Mettis Aerospace, designers and manufacturers of precision components for the aerospace industry.
