Biography
Elly Chow is an Associate in the Financial Restructuring and Insolvency practice based in Sydney.
Elly regularly advises financial institutions on restructuring, enforcement and insolvency processes, with a particular focus on distressed debt and special situations in the Australian market.
Elly has experience acting for major Australian banks and financial institutions on mortgage recovery and restructuring mandates, including mortgagee enforcement proceedings, complex security enforcement strategies, dispute resolution and contested recovery actions across all Australian jurisdictions.
Experience
Elly’s experience includes acting for:
- a major Australian bank in connection with the appointment of Receivers over two substantial farming properties in Tasmania and the subsequent sale process undertaken to realise the secured assets and recover the bank’s indebtedness.*
- a syndicate of lenders with respect to allegations of banking fraud including the assessment of potential lender exposure, enforcement considerations and related litigation strategy. She has also represented the lender group in court proceedings arising from the matter.*
