Fairuz Ben Lahcen is an associate in White & Case's Project Development and Finance group in Paris.

Fairuz' project finance transactional experience includes project financing and project development, acting on the side of banks and sponsors.

Prior to joining White & Case, Fairuz acquired experience at a global law firm.

Energy

  • Representation of Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) on the French aspects of its definitive agreement with Innergex Renewable Energy Inc. (Innergex) to acquire all the shares in Innergex.
  • Representation of the lenders on a €1.37 billion refinancing for Sonnedix, a global renewable energy producer with over 4GW of operating capacity. The transaction involves refinancing 1,040MW of existing and new solar PV assets across France, Italy, Poland, and Spain.
  • Representation of (i) Santander on the €150 million financing of the acquisition of a portion of the capital of Thoraga Holding AG by Quaero Capital (France) SAS and (ii) La Banque Postale, Bpifrance and Santander on the €426 million financing of a portfolio of wind farms in France (existing assets and assets under construction) with a combined capacity of 265 MW. The portfolio is owned by Windportfolio 2023 AG, a company belonging to the EnergieTeam group.
  • Representation of TagEnergy on the development and project financing of a utility-scale BESS project in Cernay.

Infrastructure

  • Representation of the lenders on a US$148 million financing for Borealis Data Center, which is 92.2 percent owned by Vauban Infrastructure Partners through its Fund Core Infrastructure Fund III SCS SICAV-SIF.
  • Representation of EIB in connection with the project for the financing of the acquisition and regeneration, (i) by the Grand Est Region, of part of the rolling stock of SNCF Voyageurs (closed) and (ii) by Regions Aquitaine and Occitanie, of part of the rolling stock of SNCF Voyageurs.
  • Representation of the lenders on the financing of the rolling stock concession of the Hauts de France region.
  • Representation of a consortium (Transdev, NGE and Caisse des dépôts et consignations) in the context of a tender process organized by the Grand-Est Region regarding the award of a concession relating to the financing, refurbishment, operation and maintenance of a railway line between Nancy and Contrexéville.
