Biography
Freya Jia is an associate in White & Case's Asia-Pacific Debt Finance practice group, based in Hong Kong.
Freya has experience in advising banks, other financial institutions and corporate borrowers on acquisition and leveraged financings, take-privates and syndicated and bilateral loans, along with refinancing of such transactions.
Experience
Her experience includes advising:
- The arrangers on the (certain funds) financing for a proposed take-private of a Cayman incorporated company by way of scheme of arrangement from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.*
- The arrangers on the mezzanine loan financing for a Singapore incorporated borrower for funding capital call subscriptions to be made by the borrower.*
- The sponsor on an LBO loan relating to its acquisition of a nutrition supplement company in the PRC.*
- The founder of a HK listco in relation to WVR shares of such HK listco on a margin loan transaction.*
- The arrangers in connection with the facilities for a leading private equity firm's (the "sponsor") acquisition of an electronic manufacturing and development services company, and supporting the general corporate purposes of the target group post-closing. This transaction marks the sponsor's first leveraged buyout financing in Greater China.*
- The arranger on the facilities provided to an airport lounge business invested by a leading Asian private equity firm, for refinancing of its existing indebtedness and general corporate purposes. The transaction was structured as an LBO, which involved guarantees and security from 12 jurisdictions.*
