Biography

Gabriel Salinas is Partner in White & Case's Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice in the Houston office. 

Gabriel advises sponsors, private equity firms, funds, sovereigns, global energy companies, multinationals, and financial institutions on cross-border M&A, joint ventures, and multi-billion-dollar energy and infrastructure investments. He is a leading lawyer in global M&A, global energy infrastructure projects and New Energies projects, including low carbon transactions. Gabriel has also worked on some of the most high-profile private equity and Mexico and Latin America M&A transactions. Gabriel has represented equity investors in some of the largest and most important global infrastructure, LNG, clean hydrogen and carbon capture projects in the U.S.

  • Representation of CEMEX S.A.B. de C.V. in the sale by Sunbulk Shipping, S.L.U, of all of the shares it owns in Cemex Dominicana, S.A. and Transportes San Pedro, SRL to a consortium led by Cementos Progreso Holdings, S.L. for total consideration of approximately $950 million.*
  • Representation of CEMEX S.A.B. de C.V. in the sale by of its operations in Panama to Grupo Estrella for an enterprise value of approximately US$200 million.*
  • Representation of POSCO International in connection with its equity investment in the US$45 billion Alaska LNG project in the United States, the only federally authorized LNG export project on the US Pacific Coast.*
  • Representation of POSCO International on its long-term LNG sale and purchase agreement (SPA) with Mexico Pacific. Under this LNG SPA, POSCO International has agreed to purchase 0.7 million tons per annum (MTPA) of LNG over a 20-year period on an FOB basis, to be supplied from the proposed Saguaro Energía LNG export facility in Puerto Libertad, Sonora, Mexico.*
