Biography
Hejir Rashidzadeh is an associate in the Intellectual Property practice at White & Case LLP. Hejir’s practice is distinguished by his ability to bridge the gap between complex engineering concepts and strategic legal counsel.
As a master's student researcher at the Emerging Radio Systems Group (EmRG) at the University of Waterloo, Hejir contributed to multidisciplinary research and industry collaborations focused on developing next-generation hardware for ultra-broadband, hyper-connectivity, and 5G wireless communication. Hejir’s research achievements are highlighted by two peer-reviewed publications. At the University of Waterloo, he authored a paper in IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques on compensation of transmitter I/Q imbalance in millimeter-wave MIMO systems, advancing the field of telecommunications hardware. As an undergraduate at the University of Windsor, he published research on energy harvesting for IoT sensors utilizing MEMS technology.
Professionally, Hejir further honed his technical expertise at Ford Motor Company, where he served as a Self-Parking Development Engineer. In this role, he led the development of autonomous parking features for North American vehicles. Hejir’s work included creating advanced simulation environments to test autonomous features, significantly reducing the need for prototype vehicles and optimizing system performance through data-driven analysis.
During his time at Harvard Law School, Hejir served as a Teaching Fellow in Public International Law. Hejir’s multidisciplinary background in law, engineering, enables him to deliver strategic, technically informed counsel on intellectual property matters.
Experience
Bitpanda GmbH v. Bitpanda Inc. et al
Assisted in representing Bitpanda GmbH in a trademark and unfair competition action in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York against an entity impersonating the client. Successfully obtained a temporary restraining order (TRO) prohibiting the defendants from using the BITPANDA name or mark. Obtained default judgment on all claims, delivering a comprehensive victory for Bitpanda GmbH.
