Overview

Mr. Silverbrand is an attorney in the Firm's Financial Restructuring & Insolvency Group. His practice focuses on representing secured and unsecured creditors, ad hoc groups, hedge funds, private equity funds, and other sophisticated investors in corporate restructurings, workouts and debt financing matters. Mr. Silverbrand also has experience representing investors in bankruptcy claims and litigation claims.

Mr. Silverbrand rejoined White & Case in January 2018, returning from Centerbridge Partners, L.P. where he advised its hedge fund and private equity investors on a wide range of investments.

Mr. Silverbrand has written on issues related to bankruptcy law, international law, and other legal topics, with articles having been published in Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance and Regulation (with Alan S. Gover), Stanford Journal of International Law, and UCLA Journal of Law & Technology.

Experience

In re Houston Regional Sports Network, L.P., in which he represents the Houston Rockets, as one of the debtor’s equity owners and a media rights licensor, in all aspects of the chapter 11 case, including in successfully prosecuting confirmation of a heavily-contested reorganization plan.

In re AMR Corporation, in which he represented the Export Credit Bank of Brazil, which extended more than US$1.7 billion in prepetition aircraft mortgage financing to American Airlines, Inc.

BNP Paribas, as COFACE agent, and the senior lenders, in the out-of-court restructuring of approximately US$600 million of senior secured indebtedness of Globalstar, Inc., as well as a related US$85 million equity contribution by Globalstar's largest shareholders and restructuring of Globalstar's convertible notes.

In re Tribune Company, in which he represents the successor administrative agent for a US$1.6 billion bridge loan extended to the debtor in connection with its prepetition LBO.

In re GSC Group, Inc. and related state court proceedings, in which he represents an ad hoc group of secured lenders

In re Texas Rangers Baseball Partners, in which he represented Rangers Baseball Express LLC in its purchase of the Texas Rangers major league baseball team.
