Biography
Ianis Tamoud is an associate in White & Case's Project Development and Finance group in Paris.
Ianis advises on administrative law, with a focus on public contracts and regulatory matters, from both an advisory and litigation perspective. He also acts for international and domestic sponsors and financiers on project finance transactions.
Prior to joining White & Case, Ianis gained experience as a trainee at leading French and international law firms in Paris and Washington, D.C.
Experience
Recent experience includes advising:
- Lenders to the consortium composed of Acciona Agua, Green of Africa, and Afriquia Gaz in connection with the tender process, export credit-backed financing, and senior debt facilities for the construction, development, operation, and maintenance of the Casablanca Water Desalination Plant.
- The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan in relation to various Power/Renewables projects in Uzbekistan.
- Multilateral institutions including African Development Bank (AfDB), British International Investment (BII), European Investment Bank (EIB) and other potential senior lenders in the financing, development, construction, operation and maintenance of (i) a 147 MW hydropower plant on the Ruzizi River which crosses Burundi, DRC and Rwanda (natural border between the 3 countries) and (ii) the connection line.
- Lenders to renewable energy projects in Africa and the Middle East.*
- A leading French pharmaceutical company seeking a European marketing authorization before the European Court of Justice.*
- A State agency in drafting internal rules of procedure for its sanctions and oversight powers.*
