Jakub Wołkowicz
Biography
Overview
Jakub is a partner in the Dispute Resolution and International Arbitration practice, he is experienced in providing legal assistance to clients in court proceedings and arbitration, especially in relation to construction disputes. The cases he has dealt with include in particular: construction claims under FIDIC contract conditions, applications for injunctions in various construction disputes as well as various aspects of enforcement proceedings and recognition of foreign judgments.
In 2014, he was seconded for nine months to the International Arbitration Department at the Paris office of White & Case. During his secondment, he worked with the Construction Team at our Paris office.
Prior to joining White & Case, Jakub was an associate in a leading Polish law firm. He also gained his experience in other law firms through internships.
Experience
Advising a contractor (claimant and counter-respondent) in ICC arbitration regarding an over €30 million construction dispute.
Advising a municipal enterprise in a dispute with an international contractor regarding liability for subcontractors (value: €1.5 million, arbitration – ICC).
Advising an international contractor in a dispute with an investor regarding construction of the A4 motorway (value: app. EUR 55 million, state court).
Advising a consortium of major Polish contractors on claims relating to A2 motorway (FIDIC Yellow Book).
Advising a contractor in a dispute related to construction of the S7 national road.
