Biography
Overview
Jia is an associate in the Project Development and Finance Group based in the New York office of White & Case. Jia has represented sponsors, lenders and equity investors in the financing, development and operation of domestic and international energy and infrastructure projects. She has also participated in strategic transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures.
Experience
Representation of Calpine in a US$1.75 billion climate bond certified financing, increased from US$1.1 billion in facilities, for its wholly owned subsidiary Geysers Power Company, the owner the largest complex of geothermal power plants in the US.
Representation of GenOn in a US$200 million hybrid term loan A/B refinancing for its wholly owned subsidiary Lanyard Power, the owner of the 1.6 GW Chalk Point and 312 MW Dickerson dual-fired power plants in Maryland.
Representation of GenOn in a US$247 million financing for its wholly owned subsidiary GenOn Rincon Power, the owner of the 1.5 GW Ormond Beach and 54 MW Ellwood electric generation facilities in California.
Representation of GenOn in a US$123.5 million financing for its wholly owned subsidiary GenOn Bowline Power, the owner of a 1.145 GW electric generation facility and pipeline in New York.
Representation of Société Générale as administrative agent and structuring bank for a consortium of international lenders on the US$1.25 billion financing for the development of the Shenandoah deepwater oil field in the US Gulf of Mexico.
Representation of Goldman Sachs, IDB Invest, IFC and SERV in the structuring of the US$1.8 billion financing for the design, construction and operation of a Centrais Elétricas de Sergipe's (CELSE) 1,516 MW LNG-to-thermoelectric power project in Brazil. Representation of UBS Asset Management on behalf of a large US pension plan in its strategic minority investment in Tillman Infrastructure Holdings, a leading developer and owner of telecommunication tower infrastructure throughout North America.
Representation of Macquarie Infrastructure Partners in the acquisition of Netrality Data Centers from funds managed by Abrams Capital Management. Netrality owns and operates facilities that act as data connectivity hubs in their respective markets for customers who need direct connections across multiple fiber networks, as well as colocation, powered shell, and wholesale data center solutions.
Representation of Macquarie Infrastructure Partners and Uniti Group in the acquisition of Bluebird Network, the owner of an approximately 5,200-mile fiber network in Missouri and Illinois; and the concurrent representation of Macquarie Infrastructure Partners with respect to the acquisition of Uniti's Midwest fiber business (UFMW) and the structuring of an OpCo-PropCo partnership with Uniti.
