His practice focuses primarily on corporate bankruptcy and restructuring matters, where he represents debtors, creditors, lenders, investors, and acquirers of assets in all aspects of bankruptcy and financial restructuring.

Experience

Represented Harbin Pharmaceuticals in its acquisition of substantially all of the assets of GNC Holdings LLC for approximately US$770 million through section 363 of the Bankruptcy Code in GNC's chapter 11 case.  The transaction involved an innovative structure in which Harbin used its credit support and banking relationships to structure the purchase as a leveraged buyout of GNC's business.

Represented Techniplas, LLC, a global producer and manufacturer of plastic components in the automotive industry, in its chapter 11 cases.

Represented Joerns WoundCo Holdings, Inc., a medical equipment manufacturer, and its affiliated debtors in their expedited prepackaged Chapter 11 reorganization that resulted in a balance sheet deleveraging of more than US$320 million through a conversion of prepetition debt to equity and a US$40 million new money exit facility in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Represented ACA Financial Guaranty Corp., as a monoline insurer of approximately US$38.5 million in face amount of notes, and the largest secured creditor, in connection with the chapter 11 case of Dowling College.

Represented the ad hoc group of holders of, and agent for, first lien loans in the Chapter 11 cases of Trident Holding Company, a medical diagnostics company.

Represented the ad hoc group of holders of secured debt of Concordia International Corp., a global life sciences company, in its corporate restructuring.

Represented a group of creditors with respect to the Segregated Account of Ambac Assurance Corporation in connection with its rehabilitation proceeding.

Represented the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the chapter 11 cases of Samson Resources Corporation, an oil and gas company, in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Represented the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the chapter 11 cases of Molycorp, Inc., a mining company, in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Represented GT Advanced Technologies Inc., a materials manufacturer, and its affiliates in their chapter 11 cases in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Hampshire.

Represented a holder of certificates of participation in the chapter 9 case of the City of Detroit, Michigan, in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

Represented the Joint Special Administrators of MF Global UK Limited, a financial services company, and its affiliates, in their special administration under UK law and the related SIPA proceeding and chapter 11 cases of their affiliates in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.
