Biography

Klára Wenigová, an associate of the Prague office and a member of the Banking and Finance practice group.

During her studies, Klára gained international academic experience through one-semester study programs at The University of Melbourne (2019) and Wuhan University (2017). Klára also attended summer law schools abroad on international banking law and finance (2017) and competition law (2016).

In the area of loan financing, Klára has assisted both local and international clients, financial institutions and corporate groups in particular. In her practice, she focuses on, among other things, real estate acquisition financing and project financing.

Experience

Klára Wenigová has advised clients in the following transactions (among others):

Česká spořitelna, a.s., Komerční banka, a.s. and Československá obchodní banka, a. s. in connection with a buyer credit facility insured by EGAP (the Czech ECA) to the Government of the Republic of Indonesia acting by and through the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia duly represented by the Directorate General of Budget Financing and Risk Management, as borrower, for the purpose of financing the supply of GCI radars and related infrastructure produced by EXCALIBUR INTERNATIONAL a.s. (a member of the CSG group).

Česká spořitelna, a.s. in connection with EUR 50 million financing for Spolek pro chemickou a hutní výrobu, akciová společnost, insured by EGAP (the Czech ECA), in relation to the construction of a new facility in Ústí nad Labem for the production of a unique precursor which is highly demanded on the market, as well as investments to upgrade project-related technologies. The precursor will subsequently be further developed by the U.S. factory of Arkema. This deal involved complex negotiations on several interconnected fronts (financing, export credit insurance, project documentation and intercreditor relations) across multiple jurisdictions (Czech, French, English and US).

Československá obchodní banka, a. s. in connection with provision of private credit insurer and EGAP covered buyer credit facility to the State of the Ivory Coast represented by Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of the Ivory Coast for the purpose of financing of supply of 410 IVECO buses, 25 bateaux buses and related equipment and services supplied by Iveco Czech Republic, a.s. to La Société de Transports Abidjanais SOTRA.

Československá obchodní banka, a. s. in connection with the preparation of loan documents for the purpose of financing an investment by SAKO Brno, a.s. in the construction of a highly efficient cogeneration power plant powered by renewable energy sources.

UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia, a.s. in relation to the financing of a modern AAA- class office building Smíchoff located in Prague 5.

Erste Group Bank AG, Česká spořitelna, a.s., UniCredit S.p.A., UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia, a.s., Société Générale S.A. and Komerční banka, a.s. as mandated lead arrangers in connection with syndicated financing provided to CTP Group, one of the largest industrial developers in the CEE region, for the purposes of refinancing the existing financial indebtedness of certain property companies within CTP Group that operate logistics parks in the Czech Republic. At the amount of EUR 1.9 billion, this is one of the largest real estate financings in the CEE region.

Helaba Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen Girozentrale in connection with the acquisition financing of Churchill Square office complex – sold by PENTA REAL ESTATE HOLDING LIMITED and SUDOP Invest a.s to a joint venture between CFH Capital Group Limited and Českomoravská Nemovitostní a.s. The biggest office building financing transaction of the year 2020 in the market.
