Biography

Overview

Lukáš Královič joined White & Case in April 2011 as a legal assistant/intern and was promoted to associate in 2013 after he obtained his master's degree in law. Mr. Královič has participated in various local and international projects. He has worked on matters related to mergers & acquisitions (due diligence and preparation of legal documentation), financing, litigation and dispute resolution, general corporate law (including the day-to-day management and preparation of various commercial agreements) as well as certain specific law areas, in particular, gambling law.

Mr. Královič has advised clients on various investment, energy and other infrastructural projects. In the sector of investment/infrastructural projects, he has advised, for instance, the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic and MH Invest s.r.o. in connection with the preparation, arrangement, negotiation and implementation of a €1.5 billion investment by Jaguar Land Rover, a strategic investor, in an industrial park in Nitra and development of this industrial park. In the energy sector, he has worked on transactional, corporate, regulatory and litigation matters for a number of clients in the gas and electricity industries (such as electricity/gas suppliers or distribution system operator) as well as clients active in the nuclear industry.

Mr. Královič has co-authored several chapters about Slovakia in international publications such as the World Bank's Doing Business (2015, 2016), ÇAKMAK's Global Renewable Energy Guide (2016) and the Energy Charter Secretariat's Energy Investment Risk Assessment (EIRA 2018). He has also written several articles on various legal matters that were published in the Slovak legal journal Justičná revue (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018).

Advising the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic and MH Invest, s.r.o. in the preparation, arrangement, negotiation and implementation of the contemplated €1.5 billion investment of Jaguar Land Rover in a strategic park in Nitra.

Advising a major player in the nuclear industry in the development of the nuclear power plant in Jaslovské Bohunice.

Advising a major player in the Slovak energy industry in connection with the creation of a joint venture aimed at the provision of energy services.

Advising Enterprise Investors in connection with its acquisition of CBA Slovakia, a.s., a leading operator in the food and industrial goods retail sector in Slovakia.

Advising a leading investment group in acquiring 51% of the issued share capital of an international rehabilitation center based in Slovakia.

Advising Benson Elliot, a major real estate investment company based in the United Kingdom, in connection with bankruptcy and liquidation of its Slovak joint venture estabslihed for the purpose of the acquisition of real estate in Bratislava.

Advising Credit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank S. A. in connection with negotiations with a local machinery producer in distress regarding their standstill agreement and related arrangements with sponsors.

Advising Credit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank S. A. in court proceedings with respect to third party claims challenging the validity of its USD 19 million bank guarantees and preliminary injunctions preventing the bank from payment.

Advising a significant Czech bank in proceedings on invalidity of agreements through which a guarantor transferred its entire assets to a related party without proper liquidation, and related criminal law aspects. 

Advising the municipality in connection with the fulfilment of its obligations under legislation governing the provision of substitute aparments to tenants due to returning of their original apartments to their original owners (landlords) in the restitution process.
