Overview

Menalco J. Solis is an Associate in the International Arbitration Group in Paris. His practice covers investment and international commercial arbitration.

Prior to joining White & Case, Menalco gained experience in public international law and international arbitration at the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague and at international law firms in Paris and Washington, D.C.

Menalco is an editor of ITA in Review, the law journal of the Institute for Transnational Arbitration (ITA). He is also an Advisory Board Member of ITA.

Experience

Menalco's recent experience includes:

  • Advising the buyer in a contract dispute over the sale of LNG plants in Africa
  • Advising the owner of a major port project that has been stalled over contract and investment law issues
  • Representing the claimant in a gas price arbitration
  • Representing the respondent in an ICC arbitration over the construction of a tunnel in Latin America
  • Representing the claimant in an investment arbitration against an Eastern European State over gas retail and hotel businesses
