Michael Crowley
Biography
Overview
Michael Crowley is an associate in the Firm's International Trade and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Reviews & US National Security practices. He counsels clients on national security legal and policy matters including transactions reviewed by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) and global FDI regulatory screenings. His practice also focuses on US and multilateral financial sanctions and complex transnational litigation matters.
Prior to joining White & Case, Michael worked for the US Department of Defense's Foreign Investment Review section supporting CFIUS matters. Michael also directed the team responsible for the section's participation in the Committee for the Assessment of Foreign Participation in the United States Telecommunications Services Sector (informally known as Team Telecom).
During law school, Michael completed an internship at the US Department of Justice's National Security Division, served as a managing editor of the Journal of National Security Law & Policy, and was awarded a student fellowship for Georgetown's Center for the Constitution. Michael also previously served as an officer in the United States Army Reserves.
