Biography

Overview

Michael Hertz is the Chief Marketing Officer at White & Case, responsible for all client-related matters across the global law firm. He is specifically responsible for brand, marketing, business development, client service and relationship programs, communication and media relations. As the Chief Marketing Officer, he oversees a team of marketing, business development and communications professionals across the globe and reports directly to the Chairman.

Michael started his career in New York as an associate and then as a litigation partner at a top global firm. In 1998, he co-founded and ran a new nonprofit organization called Pro Bono Net, which uses innovative technology and collaborations to increase access to justice. Pro Bono Net is now used by tens of thousands of lawyers—including many pro bono lawyers across the United States. Michael still serves as a board member of Pro Bono Net. In 2005, he moved to London to join another top global law firm to serve as its Global Director of Knowledge and Business Development. This position combined the legal knowledge management and the business development functions into one integrated team.

Michael has significant experience in senior management positions within major global law firms. He also has been recognized on a number of occasions for innovation and his leadership in the legal sector.
