Paul Griffin
Biography
Overview
Professor Paul Griffin is Senior Adviser and Counsel to the Global Oil and Gas Group. With over 30 years' experience in the sector, Paul focuses on the deals and disputes of the global oil and gas business. He has also been involved in related matters of public law and competition law. He writes and speaks regularly on the issues and developments of the law and global oil and gas industry and is the consulting editor of the leading text, "The Law and Business of LNG".
Among other accolades, Paul has been named Global Oil & Gas Lawyer of the Year by Who's Who Legal as well as World's Leading Energy Lawyer by Expert Guides: Best of the Best. He is recognised by Chambers & Partners as being "a very strong oil and gas lawyer" with "tremendous experience in gas sales agreements".
Paul is Vice-Chair of the Oil and Gas Law Committee of the International Bar Association and a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators and the Institute of Energy Law. He is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a CEDR Accredited Mediator.

Aphrodite Offshore Oil Field *
Advising Aphrodite group (a joint venture of Noble, Delek and others) in relation to the development of the Aphrodite field offshore Cyprus and initial sales to Cyprus and Egypt.
Yamal LNG *
Advising Yamal LNG (a joint venture of Novatek, Total and PetroChina) in relation to the marketing and sales of LNG from Russia to Asian and European markets.
Leviathan Offshore Oil Field *
Advising Leviathan group (a joint venture of Noble, Delek and others) in relation to the development of the Leviathan field offshore Israel and initial sales to Egypt for LNG sales to world markets.
Pakistan Gas Pipeline *
Advising Interstate Gas Pipelines of Pakistan in relation to the purchase of gas from Iran and the development of related pipeline facilities in light of sanctions imposed by the United States and the European Union.
Tanzania LNG *
Advising Tanzania LNG (a joint venture of Statoil, BG, ExxonMobil and others) in the development of upstream interests in Tanzania and the liquefaction of petroleum for sale to world markets.
Total Oil & Gas Interests *
Advising Total in relation to oil and gas interests in China and the establishment of an enhanced business for its presence in China.
Reliance Industries *
Advising Reliance Industries on the sale to BP of a 30% interest in 23 production sharing contracts in India for 7.2 billion USD and the foundation of a joint venture for the marketing of gas in India.
