Overview

Peiwen Chen is a local partner in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity Practice Group, based in Singapore. Her experience includes advising on a range of mergers & acquisitions, private equity and joint ventures, with a strong focus on infrastructure and renewable energy projects.

Peiwen is recognized as a rising leader and expert in M&A/PE in Asia-Pacific. She was recently nominated and is a finalist in the prestigious 2022 ALB Hong Kong Law Awards as a "Young Lawyer of the Year" and Euromoney's 2022 Women in Business Law Asia Awards for the "Rising Star Award".

The Carlyle Group in its:

  • US$490 million acquisition of a strategic 20 percent stake in Piramal Pharma, the pharmaceutical division of Piramal Enterprises Limited, one of India's leading diversified companies, with a presence in financial services, information management and pharmaceuticals; and
  • acquisition of a majority stake in SeQuent Scientific Limited, the largest pure-play animal healthcare company in India with global operations.

Celestica Inc., a Canadian-listed multinational electronics manufacturing services business, in its US$306 million acquisition of PCI Private Limited, a Singaporean-based South East Asian electronics manufacturing and service business, from Platinum Private Equity.

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) in the development of, and subsequent equity sale of a strategic stake in, the US$3 billion (NT$90 billion) 589 MW Changfang and Xidao (CFXD) offshore wind project in Taiwan. This deal won "Asia Pacific Project Finance Deal of the Year 2020" by IJGlobal Awards, "Asia Pacific Renewable Deal of the Year 2020" by PFI Awards, "Project Finance Deal of the Year 2020" by FinanceAsia Achievement Awards and "Project Finance Deal of the Year 2021" by IFLR Asia-Pacific Awards.

Macquarie Digital Tower Pte. Limited and Phil-Tower Consortium, Inc. in the auction sale for the acquisition and leaseback of telecommunication infrastructure assets in Visayas and Mindanao, the Philippines, from Globe Consortium, Inc. and its subsidiaries.

Petroliam Nasional Berhad ("Petronas") in its approx. US$590 million acquisition of a 29.4 percent interest in the Hai Long offshore wind project in Taiwan from Northland Power, a Canadian-listed renewable power producer.

RATCH Group PCL in its US$605 million acquisition of the Nexif Energy Group and on the formation of NEXIF RATCH Energy, a renewable energy platform with wind, solar and hydro energy assets across Southeast Asia and Australia.

Schneider Electric, a global player in energy management and automation, in its:

  • US$2.1 billion (₹14,000 crore) acquisition of Larsen & Toubro Electrical & Automation, and on the subsequent consortium arrangements between Schneider Electric and Temasek Holdings Private Ltd. The transaction won "Cross Border Deal of the Year (over US$1 billion)" at the M&A Advisor's Awards 2020 and "India Deal of the Year" by India Business Law Journal 2020; and
  • incubation, establishment and investment in a joint venture energy management company NaviX Solutions based in Singapore. NaviX Solutions is the first venture developed from the partnership between SEF and EDB New Ventures, the corporate venture building arm of the Singapore Economic Development Board.

Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners in the acquisition of a 95 percent interest in Swancor Renewable Energy Co. Ltd, including its 25 percent interest in the Formosa 2 offshore wind farm project in Taiwan. This deal was recognized as "Renewables Deal of the Year, Asia-Pacific" at the 2019 Infrastructure Investor Awards.

A global infrastructure fund and developer in the acquisition, and joint venture development, of four offshore wind project developments across various prefectures in Japan.
