Overview

Polly Efstratiadi is an Associate in the International Arbitration Group in Paris. Polly's practice includes international commercial and investment arbitration.

Prior to joining White & Case, Polly acquired experience in the fields of international arbitration and litigation, but also in English commercial and civil law at barristers' chambers, international law firms in London and Athens, and an in-house position in London.

Polly has qualified as a barrister in England & Wales.

Experience

Advising an Eastern European client in its dispute against a banking group, including on its potential LCIA arbitration claims arising from financing agreements;

Advising a Cypriot company in an English-law arbitration against a Cypriot State entity, focusing on financial damages;

Representing an Eastern European respondent State against investors in an ICSID arbitration involving claims arising out of a concession termination, focusing on issues of money laundering and corruption;

Representing a European company/ Employer in a multi-claim FIDIC-based construction adjudication against the claimant Contractor;

Assisted an Eastern European respondent State in parallel ICC and ICSID proceedings related to claims arising out of an agreement termination, focusing on procedural challenges;

Advised an energy company with respect to the protection of its investment in Algeria under bilateral investment treaties;

Assisted in an ICC arbitration between Chinese companies involving a dispute on alleged breaches of a shareholders' agreement;

Assisted the sole arbitrator in a CAS arbitration between a FIFA club and a player concerning payment obligations;

Assisted barrister in a large-scale civil fraud case against Greek parties;* and

Assisted a Greek client in an arbitration under a shipbuilding contract.*
