Biography
Tanvi Dattani Vaish is an associate in the Firm's Disputes Group whose practice focuses on international arbitration and complex international disputes in US courts. She has represented clients in arbitrations before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and has acted for multinational corporations as well as foreign sovereigns and their state-owned entities in matters arising under the Anti-Terrorism Act and the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act. Tanvi has supported clients across all phases of litigation, including dispositive motions, case strategy, fact and expert discovery and appeals.
Prior to joining White & Case, Tanvi practiced at one of India's leading law firms. She advised and represented clients in domestic and international commercial arbitrations, complex commercial and corporate litigation, white collar and insolvency disputes and regulatory matters in Indian courts. Tanvi also served as a judicial fellow to the Hon. Charles N. Brower, assisting him in his international arbitration cases.
Tanvi holds an LL.M in International Arbitration and Dispute Settlement from Georgetown University Law Center and a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School, where she graduated with Pro Bono Honors. She was a member of the University of Chicago Exoneration Project Clinic, working to challenge wrongful convictions and secure the release of innocent individuals.
