Biography
Timothy Nip is an associate in White & Case's Asia-Pacific Debt Finance practice, based in Hong Kong.
He has experience advising banks, sponsors and borrowers on a wide range of domestic and cross-border financings, including syndicated loans, leveraged and acquisition financings, and corporate finance transactions.
Prior to joining White & Case, Timothy was part of a Magic Circle law firm in Hong Kong, where he worked with a highly-ranked banking and finance team.

Leveraged Finance
- A leading global alternative asset management firm on the acquisition financing for a minority stake in an Indian pharmaceutical packaging manufacturer, involving a co-investment from a Danish life science investor. *
- A leading Asian private equity firm on the re-financing for the acquisition of units in alternative investment funds holding non-convertible debentures secured on Indian commercial and residential real estate.*
- A consumer-focused private equity firm on the re-financing for a Singapore-based culinary brand, its portfolio company.*
- A state-owned enterprise administered by China's SASAC on the acquisition financing for the privatisation of a Hong Kong listed automotive manufacturer by way of merger by absorption.*
Corporate Finance
- Hong Kong Broadband Network on its multi-billion HKD re-financings in 2024 (Telecom Refinancing Deal of the Year, The Asset Triple A Sustainable Infrastructure Awards 2025) and 2025.*
- MicroPort Scientific Corporation, a global medical devices company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, on a US$150 million convertible loan facility and a US$300 million credit facility.*
- A syndicate of local and international banks, led by Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited and The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, on the HK$12 billion loan facilities to Hong Kong Housing Society.*
- Syndicates of banks on various financings in an aggregate amount of over US$2 billion for a pan-Asian life and health insurance business.*
- Deutsche Bank on a bespoke financing for a China-focused investment firm to fund private investments in the PRC.*
