White & Case lawyers selected for prestigious LCLD programs in 2024

Three White & Case lawyers, Ajita Shukla, Abdul Hafiz, and Otto Nuñez-Montelongo, have been chosen for the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity's (LCLD) esteemed programs. This achievement underscores their dedication to legal excellence and diversity leadership.

  • Ajita Shukla will embark on the LCLD Fellowship journey, which focuses on high-potential, mid-career lawyers with professional and personal development opportunities as well as leadership training, relationship-building resources, and access to other LCLD Members, including managing partners and general counsel, for mentoring and guidance.
  • Abdul Hafiz and Otto Nuñez-Montelongo join the ranks of esteemed LCLD Pathfinders. As high-potential early-career lawyers, they will benefit from the seven-month Pathfinder program, which provides participants with the opportunity to learn from top leaders in the legal profession as well as career development experts and is designed to train foundational leadership skills and relationship-building resources, propelling their legal careers and commitment to inclusion.

Ajita Shukla: Ajita is counsel in the Washington, D.C. office and a member of the Firm's Mergers & Acquisitions and Global Technology Transactions practices. She is also a member of the firm's Global Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare Industry Group and the Firm's India Practice Group. She is Co-Chair of White & Case's Asian Affinity Network, which runs a broad range of recruitment, cultural, and social initiatives for 300 plus members and allies across the Firm.

Abdul Hafiz: Abdul is an associate in the Firm's Data, Privacy, and Cybersecurity practice in New York. Abdul provides strategic legal and business advice for a variety of commercial and financial clients. Abdul is actively involved in pro bono matters, with a particular focus on criminal appeals, racial justice and reform, and human rights. Abdul is also involved in several bar associations, and currently serves as Secretary for the New York City Bar Association's Civic Education Task Force and the Vice President of the Muslim Bar Association of New York (MuBANY).

Otto Nuñez-Montelongo: Otto is an associate in the Employment, Compensation & Benefits group within the Firm's Mergers & Acquisitions practice, based in Washington, DC Otto is a veteran of the US Army Reserve and is dedicated to pro bono work benefitting disabled veterans, including the National Veterans Legal Services Program's (NVLSP) Lawyers Serving Warriors initiative that offers pro bono legal help with disability issues to veterans from all eras.

Founded in 2009, the LCLD is an organization of more than 400 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who have pledged themselves, through the Leaders at the Front initiative and other means, to creating a truly diverse US legal profession.
