Bloomberg Law | They’ve Got Next: The 40 Under 40 - Matthew Linder of White & Case

Bloomberg Law recognized White & Case partner Matthew Linder as an honoree in its 40 Under 40 list, which recognizes the accomplishments of stellar young lawyers nationwide. Matthew was one of just two bankruptcy and restructuring professionals recognized in this year's list.

In a Q&A, Matthew spoke about recent client wins, including defeating appeals of Boy Scouts of America's Chapter 11 plan in the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and obtaining denial of petitioners' request certiorari in the Supreme Court, as well as resolving 3M's Combat Arms Earplug multidistrict litigation.

Reflecting on the most important lessons from his early career, Matthew said that "the best training in the practice of law comes from jumping into the deep end and not shying away from failure," and he emphasized the importance of asking thoughtful questions and listening to senior lawyers.

Matthew explained that while many restructuring lawyers achieve favorable outcomes for their clients, he defines success as "achieving those results while maintaining integrity, professionalism and credibility throughout the process."
