Law.com | The Global 200: The top firms keep getting bigger, richer and harder to catch

In its 2026 Global 200 report, Law.com ranked White & Case among the world's top-ten law firms by revenue and spoke with Chair Heather McDevitt about the growing importance of scale, global integration and investment in technology across the legal industry.

Discussing what clients increasingly expect from global firms, Heather said: "What clients are interested in are firms that are connected on a global basis, whose partners work well together, and who can deliver the firm's best capabilities."

Heather also discussed the competitive landscape, noting a "clear push for scale" across the industry, including through mergers and firms entering new markets.

On investment in artificial intelligence, Heather described AI as "an absolutely crucial short-term, medium-term and long-term investment for us."
