Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Practice with the addition of Airi Hammalov as a partner in New York.

"The continued growth of our global M&A practice is a key priority," said White & Case Chair Heather McDevitt. "With transatlantic deal activity growing, Airi's arrival strengthens our ability to deliver exceptional advice to clients capitalizing on cross-border opportunities."

Hammalov advises corporations, private equity sponsors and portfolio companies on complex domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, including strong experience in strategic and sponsor-backed investments, joint ventures and leveraged buyouts. Fluent in several languages, she joins White & Case from another law firm, where she was a partner.

"Airi's strong cross-border experience will meaningfully enhance how we partner with strategics and sponsors on their most consequential global transactions," said White & Case Global Co-Head of M&A Kimberly Petillo-Décossard. "Her arrival builds on prior investments in our practice, and demonstrates our sustained commitment to expanding our M&A team with outstanding talent."

Hammalov added: "The depth of White & Case's global platform and outstanding M&A team is an exciting opportunity to develop my practice. I look forward to collaborating with my new colleagues to drive high-impact cross-border deals, including focusing on transactions involving the Nordics and broader Europe."

Hammalov was recognized as The Deal's "Top Rising Star in M&A and Private Equity" in 2021. She has also been appointed as the Honorary Consul of Estonia in New York.
