Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Tax Practice with the addition of Alejandro Santoyo as a partner in Mexico City.

"Alejandro's arrival adds additional strength to our Firm's global tax capabilities," said White & Case Chair Heather McDevitt. "He is a highly regarded practitioner with a strong reputation for delivering innovative and practical solutions to clients. Our clients will benefit from his expertise as they increasingly demand comprehensive, integrated solutions across all major jurisdictions."

Santoyo is a leading tax advisor in the Latin American financial market, with more than 30 years of experience advising on the tax structuring of M&A and corporate finance transactions, as well as the structuring, investment and divestment of private equity funds. He also has significant experience advising on initial public offerings of various asset classes globally, and on wealth planning matters for family offices. Santoyo is qualified as a certified public accountant, bringing a unique combination of legal and financial expertise. He has advised on a number of the most complicated, cutting-edge transactions undertaken in Mexico.

"In Latin America, M&A, finance and infrastructure transactions have become increasingly complex, and the rationale, structure and execution of transactions are often driven by tax issues," said Sang I. Ji, Head of the Firm's Global Tax Practice. "Alejandro further strengthens our global tax offering, particularly for cross-border transactions involving clients in the US, Mexico and the rest of Latin America."

"I am delighted to join the Firm's Global Tax Practice," said Alejandro Santoyo. "I have had the opportunity to work alongside my new partners throughout my career and look forward to collaborating with them to deliver exceptional results to our clients."

The arrival of Santoyo continues the strategic expansion of the Global Tax Practice following the additions of partners Arun Birla and Jiten Tank in London; partner Cyril Valentin in Paris; partners Kevin Spencer and Michael Sykes in Washington, DC; and partner Catherine Hill in London.
