Alvaro J. Peralta
Biography
Overview
Alvaro is an associate in the Firm's International Arbitration Practice and Commercial Litigation groups. He represents and advises private companies, foreign sovereigns, and state entities in the resolution of international disputes. His experience includes investment arbitrations before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and under the UNCITRAL rules, commercial disputes before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), as well as litigation in US federal court. These cases have spanned various substantive areas, including infrastructure, energy, sovereign debt, and environment.
Mr. Peralta is also actively involved in pro bono activities involving international human rights proceedings and the representation of asylum applicants in US immigration court. A native of the US and Nicaragua, Mr. Peralta is bilingual in English and Spanish. From 2017 to 2018 Alvaro was resident in the Firm's Paris office.
Alvaro has additional experience with the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) of the World Bank, the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris, and the Chambers of the Honorable Judge Reyna at the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
