Biography

Anthony KT Chan is an associate in White & Case's Asia Debt Finance and Restructuring practice, based in Hong Kong.

He has extensive experience advising financial institutions, private equity sponsors and corporate borrowers on a broad range of debt financing transactions.

Anthony is a Certified Public Accountant and previously worked at an international accounting firm. He was also seconded to an international investment bank for six months.

Experience

His experience includes advising:

  • The financiers led by Bank of China Limited, Macau Branch as mandated lead arranger, bookrunner and underwriter on the acquisition finance for the privatisation of the Hong Kong-listed tissue maker Vinda International Holdings Limited by Isola Castle Ltd (a member of the Royal Golden Eagle Group) by way of a voluntary conditional cash offer.*
  • JPMorgan Chase on the financing for the privatisation of Lifestyle International Holdings Limited, the retailer operating the SOGO department stores in Hong Kong by way of a scheme of arrangement.*
  • Bank of China on the financing for the privatisation of all the H shares of Huaneng Renewables Corporation Limited by its parent company, China Huaneng Group Co., Ltd. by way of a voluntary conditional offer.*
  • A syndicate of local and international banks, led by Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited and The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, on the HK$12 billion loan facilities to Hong Kong Housing Society.*
  • MicroPort Scientific Corporation, a global medical devices company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, on a US$150 million convertible loan facility and a US$300 million credit facility.*
  • Johnson Electric, a global provider of motors, actuators and motion subsystems listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, on the US$400 million syndicated facilities provided by a syndicate of local and international banks.*
  • The financiers on the acquisition financing for the £350 million acquisition by CK Infrastructure of a portfolio of UK operating onshore wind farms from Aviva Investors.*
